[Original morphology] The body is slender, slightly laterally flattened, with a round abdomen and no abdominal ridges. The body length is about 80 cm, and the largest can reach 2 meters. The head is long and pointed at the front, and the snout is much longer than it is wide. Mouth large, terminal, with the end of the mouth cleft reaching below the eye rim. There is a hard bony protrusion at the front end of the lower jaw, which coincides with the depression at the front edge of the upper jaw. Both the upper and lower jaws are strong. Eyes small, scales fine, lateral line scales 110 to 117. Dorsal fin III9-10, very small, starting point behind the ventral mackerel. Anal fin III10~11. The caudal fin is deeply forked. The body is slightly yellow, the abdomen is silvery white; the dorsal fin and caudal fin are bluish-gray, and the cheek and other fins are light yellow.

[Habitat distribution] It lives in rivers and lakes. It has strong swimming ability and is ferocious. Except for the northwest and southwest of my country, it is distributed in rivers from north to south of the plain area.
