[Source] It is the root of Salviaprzewalskii Maxim., a plant of the Lamiaceae family .

[Original form] Perennial herb, up to 70cm tall, the whole plant is densely covered with soft hairs. All leaves are simple, petiolate, triangular or elliptic-halberd-shaped, rarely oblong-ovate, 6-12 cm long, 3-7 cm wide, acute or shortly acuminate at the apex, halberd-shaped or nearly cordate at the base, coarsely serrated at the margin, and densely covered with grayish-white hairs on the underside. Inflorescence terminal or axillary, with 2 to 4 flowers in the cymes forming a raceme; bracts ovate or elliptic, with long soft hairs on both sides; calyx bell-shaped, with glandular hairs on the outside, two-lipped; corolla purple-red, with a wide and short tube, stretched flat, 2 to 3.5 cm long, with a hairy ring inside the tube; filaments flat. The nutlets are obovate and grayish in color. The flowering period is from June to August, and the fruiting period is from August to September.
