[Source] Physalis minima L., a plant of the genus Physalis in the Solanaceae family, is used as medicine in its entirety . Harvest in summer and autumn, wash and dry, or use fresh.

【Nature and flavor】 Bitter, cool.

【Functions and indications】 Clears away heat and dampness, eliminates phlegm and relieves cough, softens and disperses lumps. Used for icteric hepatitis, cholecystitis, cold and fever, sore throat, bronchitis, lung abscess, mumps, orchitis, cystitis, hematuria, cervical lymphadenopathy; used externally to treat impetigo, eczema, and furunculosis.

[Usage and Dosage] 0.5-1 liang; for external use, appropriate amount, mash the fresh product and apply it, or decoct it in water for washing, or calcine it into ash and sprinkle it on the affected area.
