Bezoar Side Effects

What is bezoar? In fact, bezoar is just the gallstone of a cow. But don’t think that gallstones are a disease so bezoar is harmful. You are wrong. Bezoar is a very precious medicinal material. It has countless functions. We can use bezoar to detoxify, treat stroke, and treat mouth sores, sore throat and other diseases.

Since bezoar has so many functions and effects, does it mean that it is non-toxic and harmless? In fact, it is not. Pregnant women should avoid eating bezoar because it can cause certain damage to the liver.

The dried gallstones of cattle, a species of mammals in the phylum Chordata and family Bovidae, are called "bile yellow" or "egg yolk" if produced in the gallbladder, "duct yellow" if produced in the bile duct, and "liver yellow" if produced in the hepatic duct. Complete bezoars are mostly oval in shape, light in texture, with a golden to yellowish brown surface that is delicate and shiny. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that bezoar has a light fragrance, a slightly bitter taste followed by sweetness, and is cool in nature. It can be used to relieve fever, detoxify and calm the nerves. It can be taken internally to treat high fever, coma, mania, infantile convulsions, convulsions, etc. It can be used externally to treat sore throat, mouth ulcers, carbuncles, and toxic diseases. Since natural bezoar is very precious and its international price is higher than that of gold, most people use so-called artificial bezoar now.

The products are mostly oval, spherical, triangular or square in shape, with different sizes, and a diameter of 0.6 to 3 (4.5) cm. A few are tubular or fragmentary. The surface is yellow-red to brown-yellow. Some surfaces are covered with a layer of shiny black film, commonly known as "black gold clothes". Some are rough, with wart-like protrusions, and some have cracks. It is light, crispy, easy to peel off in layers, and has a golden cross-section with fine concentric layers, some of which have a white core. It has a light fragrance, tastes bitter then sweet, has a cool feeling, is easy to chew and does not stick to teeth.

Clears the heart, dispels phlegm, opens the orifices, cools the liver, calms the wind, and detoxifies. It is used for coma due to febrile disease, phlegm caused by stroke, convulsions, epilepsy, sore throat, mouth ulcers, carbuncles and furuncles. (Chilling wind, stopping spasms, opening the mind, resolving phlegm, clearing heat and detoxifying)
