Medicinal value of Polygonum multiflorum

Medicinal value of Polygonum multiflorum

As we all know, Polygonum multiflorum has high medicinal value in the medical field. Lu Xun also described it in an article. Polygonum multiflorum is a root like a tree root, and the root of Polygonum multiflorum can be used for many medicinal purposes. A reporter once reported that most of the villagers in Hubei, Sichuan and other places who took Polygonum multiflorum all year round lived to be over 160 years old, which is a miracle. Therefore, the villagers there are called "longevity elders".

Many people whose hair turned white early on actually slowly darkened their hair by taking Polygonum multiflorum regularly. Polygonum multiflorum is not like other important herbs that have a certain dosage limit. You can buy Polygonum multiflorum, expose it to the sun, and then soak it in hot water to drink. There is no limit to how much you can drink. So what are the medicinal values of Polygonum multiflorum? Let's take a look.

1. Osteoarthritis (pain in waist and knees, itching all over the body, difficulty walking). Use Polygonum multiflorum (patterned ones are the best) and Achyranthes bidentata, each weighing one jin, soak them in good wine for seven nights, take them out, dry them in the sun, mash them, add jujube meat and make them into pills as big as walnuts. Take 30 to 50 pills each time. Take on an empty stomach with wine.

2. Pain in the skin (not knowing where it hurts). Mix Polygonum multiflorum powder and ginger juice into a paste and apply it. Wrap it with cloth and iron it on the soles of shoes.

3. Spontaneous sweating. Use Polygonum multiflorum powder, mix with saliva, and seal on the navel.

4. Intestinal wind and bleeding. Use 2 liang of Hedaowu, grind into powder. Take 2 qian each time, before meals, with rice soup.

5. If there is bleeding from a wound, apply Polygonum multiflorum powder on it to stop bleeding. It is very effective.

6. For scrofula tuberculosis (whether it is broken or not, and can be cured from the chest to the front), wash the root of Polygonum multiflorum, chew it raw every day, and mash the leaves and apply them to the affected area.

7. Carbuncle and ulcer. Use unlimited amount of Polygonum multiflorum, simmer on a gentle fire, add an equal amount of wine, simmer several times, save the wine, and drink at any time; take the dregs, dry them, grind them into powder, boil the flour with wine and make them into balls, as big as walnuts. Take 30 balls each time, on an empty stomach, with warm wine. After recovery, the medicine can be taken regularly.

It usually takes three years to plant Polygonum multiflorum, so it is still a long time. In recent years, scientific research has found that patients with hyperlipidemia will experience some adverse reactions such as diarrhea and increased bowel movements after long-term consumption of Polygonum multiflorum. Patients with hyperlipidemia should be cautious when eating Polygonum multiflorum to avoid endangering their health.
