Sophora alopecuroides is a perennial herbaceous plant of the Leguminosae family, with a height of 20 to 50 cm. The whole plant is covered with grayish-white, silky soft hairs. The rhizome is well developed, with a root width of up to 2 to 3 meters. The vertical roots extend downward for 2.0 to 2.5 meters. The adventitious roots are not stratified and spread evenly and widely. The stem is upright and has many branches on the upper part. The odd-pinnate compound leaves are alternate, the racemes are terminal, the flowers are densely grown, and are yellow or yellowish-white. The pods are bead-shaped, gray-brown or gray-black, and the seeds are oval. They germinate in mid-April every year, bloom from June to mid-July, and the fruits mature from late July to mid-August. The growing period is 125 to 142 days.

Sophora alopecuroides is a medium-sized xerophyte with a small above-ground part, with a crown width of 252-30cm; the underground part is large, forming a huge root network, and the dry weight ratio of the two is 1:2.4-5. Sophora alopecuroides is a light salt-alkali tolerant plant and generally grows on soils with a total salt content of less than 0.2%. Its growth is inhibited when the total salt content rises to 0.3%. No growth is observed when the total salt content reaches 0.4%. However, it sometimes also has a salt-avoiding phenomenon. For example, the total salt content in the 0-18cm layer of grass-saline soil reaches 3.7%. It can directly pass through the upper soil layer with a heavier salt content and absorb moisture from the lower soil layer with a lighter salt content.

2. Epigastric pain and acid reflux. This product enters the stomach meridian and can clear stomach heat. It can treat stomach heat, stomach pain, and acid regurgitation.
