Pueraria lobata is a very common food in our diet. It has a wide range of applications and can be used in cooking as well as in the preparation of Chinese herbal medicine. The efficacy and functions of Pueraria lobata are the knowledge points that everyone is most concerned about. Pueraria lobata itself is rich in starch and protein, which can replenish the energy needed by the human body in time. It also has the effect of treating heat.
The main distribution area of Pueraria lobata is quite wide. Except for the high-altitude and cold areas in the west, it can be seen all over the country. Ordinary people also like this plant very much. Some people like to use Pueraria lobata in cooking. 1. Effects on cardiovascular system: (1) Effect on cerebral circulation: The cerebral artery blood flow of anesthetized dogs was directly measured with an electromagnetic flowmeter. Injection of 0.1-0.5 mg/kg of total flavonoids from Pueraria root through the carotid artery increased cerebral blood flow by 87.7%-134%. Injection of 10-30 mg/kg of total flavonoids through the femoral vein increased cerebral blood flow by about 20%. When 200 mg of total flavonoids were injected intramuscularly in hypertensive patients, cerebral blood flow improved in about 53% of the patients, and vascular resistance and inflow time decreased. (2) Effect on coronary circulation: An arterial catheter was inserted into the left circumflex branch of the coronary artery of anesthetized dogs to measure coronary blood flow. Intra-arterial injection of total flavonoids 1-2 mg/kg increased blood flow by 102%-120% and decreased vascular resistance by 50%. Intravenous injection also had a certain effect. The effect of ethanol extract was similar to that of total flavonoids. The ability of Pueraria root to treat angina pectoris may be related to this. (3) Protective effect on acute myocardial ischemia: Intraperitoneal or subcutaneous injection of 10 g/kg of Pueraria lobata ethanol extract into rats reduces collateral blood flow during myocardial ischemia caused by intravenous vasopressin and hemodynamic parameters related to myocardial oxygen consumption, which are beneficial for the treatment of myocardial ischemia. (4) Effects on cardiac contractility and frequency: Puerarin at concentrations of 0.1 and 3 μmol/L can block the positive chronotropic and negative inotropic effects of isoproterenol on isolated rabbit atrial muscle and guinea pig trachea, and has a stronger selectivity for atrial muscle β1 receptors than for tracheal β2 receptors. However, some people believe that puerarin has no effect on α and β receptors, and its mechanism of action is not through adrenaline receptors. (5) Effect on microcirculation: Intravenous injection of 52 mg/kg puerarin in mice can alleviate the microcirculatory disorders caused by local infusion of epinephrine, such as mesenteric arteriolar contraction, slowed blood flow velocity and reduced flow. 2. Effects on the central nervous system: (1) Antipyretic effect: Oral administration of 2g/kg of Pueraria root alcohol extract has a significant antipyretic effect on rabbits with vaccine-induced fever. (2) Improve learning and memory: Oral administration of 3.6 g/kg of Pueraria root alcohol extract or 1.5 g/kg of Pueraria root total flavonoids in mice can counteract the memory acquisition disorder caused by scopolamine and the memory retrieval disorder caused by 40% ethanol in the step-down test of mice. It can also counteract the effect of scopolamine on reducing the acetylcholine content in the cerebral cortex and hippocampus of mice and the activity of hippocampal choline acetyltransferase. This may be one of the mechanisms of Pueraria root in improving learning and memory. (3) Smooth muscle spasm relief: Soybean extract has an antispasmodic effect on the isolated intestinal tract of mice, and can resist spasms caused by acetylcholine. Its effect is similar to that of papaverine, and it is one of the active ingredients of Pueraria root. The above is an introduction to the effects and functions of Pueraria lobata. I hope you can learn something after reading it. The effect of segmentation applies to every part of our lives, as long as we can use it appropriately. Another thing to say is that the nature of kudzu vine is cool, so you should not consume too much kudzu vine. |
