[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole plant of the Rubus serrata of the family Rutaceae.

[Original form] A weak climbing shrub. Branchlets pubescent. Leaves are opposite, nearly leathery; petiole is about 1cm long, covered with yellow rusty hairs; leaf shape is elliptic or elliptic-oblong, 2.5-5cm long, 1.5-3cm wide, with a sharp tip at the apex, slightly ear-shaped at the base, and glabrous; lateral veins are 5-8 on each side, slightly raised on the back of the leaf. The bifurcated cymes are axillary, only 2 cm long, and almost without peduncle; the calyx is deeply 5-lobed, with off-color hairs on the outside and glands on the inside or not; the corolla is light yellow, rotated, glabrous, and the lobes are narrowly lanceolate; the corona is higher than the anthers, 5 in number, and grown at the base of the gynoecium; there are 2 pollinia in each locule, and the erect stigma is coarsely fusiform and higher than the anthers. The follicles are forked into straight lines, narrowly lanceolate, up to 9 cm long and about 1 cm in diameter, covered with rusty hairs, gradually narrowing towards the top and swollen at the base. The seeds have margins and a white silky hair about 3 cm long at the tip. The flowering period is from June to August, and the fruiting period is from October to January of the following year.
