The efficacy and function of cat's claw

Medicine is very common in life. There are thousands of kinds of medicines, and the choice of medicines for different diseases is also very different. Therefore, if you want to be able to treat your own diseases well, you also need to choose the right medicine to improve the disease. Cat's claw is a Chinese herbal medicine. Such medicine is also very helpful in treating diseases. What are the effects and functions of cat's claw?

There are many aspects to the efficacy and effects of cat's claw, so you need to pay attention to this when choosing it, and you must follow the correct method during use, so that it will have a good effect on the treatment of the disease.

Cat's Claw Benefits and Uses:

⑴ Anti-tuberculosis and other bacteria. Regarding the anti-tuberculosis mechanism of cat's claw, Zhan Li et al. used the semi-quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (QC-RT-PCR) method and PCR method to study the anti-tuberculosis molecular immunological mechanism of the active ingredient of cat's claw, tert-butyl lactone (Tern). The results showed that Tern could induce high-level expression of peripheral vascular GLS gene and kill intracellular pathogenic bacteria MBT in a dose-dependent manner. There was no significant difference in the induction level between drug-resistant and untreated pulmonary tuberculosis patients. Further studies have shown that Tern may promote the expression of GLSmRNA and enhance the body's cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) bactericidal ability, thereby achieving its effect against dormant tuberculosis bacteria; it may also reduce the expression of the 16KDa small heat shock protein (16KDaSHSP) gene of dormant tuberculosis bacteria, promote high-level expression of GLSmRNA while activating dormant bacteria, enhance the body's CTL bactericidal ability, and achieve its effect against drug-resistant bacteria.

⑵ Anti-tumor effect. Wang Aiwu et al. investigated the effects of different extracts of cat's claw on tumor cells cultured in vitro. They used the system solvent method to extract cat's claw saponins and polysaccharides, and used MTT and colony formation experiments to observe the effects of different concentrations of saponins and polysaccharides on sarcoma S180, Ehrlich ascites carcinoma EAC and human breast cancer cell line MCF-7 cultured in vitro. The results showed that saponins and polysaccharides from cat's claw had different degrees of effects on the growth and colony formation of the three tumor cell lines. The dosage of saponins was positively correlated with the tumor inhibition rate and colony formation, while the polysaccharide had an optimal concentration. Zhou Li et al. found that the ethanol extract of cat's claw has a strong inducing effect on tumor necrosis factor (TNF). Among the 36 Chinese herbal medicines screened, cat's claw (70% ethanol extract) has the strongest effect in inducing TNF.

⑶ In vitro against leukemia cells, Zhang Jiahua et al. used the dead and live cell counting and 3H-Tdr incorporation methods, and used homoharringtonine as a control, indicating that ranunculus glycosides have a certain killing effect on various leukemia cells.

⑷ Anti-acute inflammatory effect. Yang Jia et al. studied the anti-acute inflammatory effect of the compound cat's claw water extract. The results showed that it had an inhibitory effect on mouse ear swelling caused by xylene, increased permeability of mouse abdominal capillaries caused by acetic acid, and rat paw swelling caused by egg white.

Through the above introduction, we have a multi-faceted understanding of the effects and functions of cat's claw. It is also very effective in treating diseases. However, it should be noted that when choosing such medicines, you must be careful not to use them in excess, and you must also choose according to the corresponding disease, otherwise it will endanger your health.
