Oral administration of 20 or 40 g/kg of red ochre can shorten the coagulation time of mice (capillary method) and the plasma recalcification time of rats, and has an inhibitory effect on ADP-induced platelet aggregation in rabbits and rats and ADP-induced platelet thrombosis in mice.

It is used to treat chronic diarrhea, chronic dysentery, blood in the stool, rectal prolapse, spermatorrhea, metrorrhagia, leucorrhea, ulcers that do not heal, eczema, and bleeding from trauma.

Note: Do not take if you have damp-heat accumulation. Pregnant women should take with caution. "Bencao Jing Jizhu" says: It dislikes rhubarb and is afraid of genkwa. "Medicine Treatise": dislike rosin. "Bencao Gangmu" says: It is afraid of Scutellaria baicalensis, Rhubarb and Cinnamon bark. "Bencao Jingshu" says: It is not suitable for people with violent heat and fire. Constipation is all caused by dampness and heat, and should be avoided according to the law. It is not suitable for those who are not affected by cold evil, diarrhea and white accumulation. The treatment for metrorrhagia is to nourish Yin and clear away heat, and not rely solely on astringency. Constipation is caused by accumulation of damp heat, and the treatment should be to remove heat and accumulation. Drugs that stop astringency are definitely not appropriate, so be careful.
