The inflorescence is terminal, with one whorl of leaf-like bracts, deeply palmately divided, and the lobes are spiny; the involucral bracts are 6 to 8 layers, ovate to lanceolate; the flowers are mostly bisexual, or unisexual and polydioecious; all are tubular flowers, with mostly palmate long pappus, and the corolla is milky white; the bisexual flowers have 5 pistils, and the ovary is densely covered with milky white soft hairs; the unisexual flowers are generally female flowers, with 5 atrophic pistils. Achenes are covered with soft white hairs, and the palmate pappus is about 0.8 cm long. The flowering period is from August to October, and the fruiting period is from September to October.
