What are the effects, functions and contraindications of Lijin Teng?

There are many types of Chinese herbal medicine, and each type of Chinese herbal medicine has different effects and functions. Li Jin Teng is a Chinese herbal medicine that can remove rheumatism. If it is combined with other medicinal materials, the efficacy will be better. The following introduces the effects, functions and contraindications of Li Jin Teng.

1. The efficacy and function of the wide tendon vine

Wide tendon vine is a plant of the genus Tinospora in the family Menispermaceae, and its vine stems are used as medicine. Wide tendon vine is also known as pine root vine, large tendon vine, tendon-relaxing vine, ox-strengthening vine, and large pine body. The effects of wide tendon vine: relax muscles and tendons, dispel wind and relieve pain. The functions of wide tendon vine: treat rheumatism, sciatica, lumbar muscle strain, and contusions.

2. Medicinal properties of Thunbergia lappa

Cylindrical, slightly twisted, of varying lengths, with a diameter of 0.5 to 2 cm. The surface is yellow-green, relatively smooth or wrinkled, with obvious white lenticels and leaf scars. It is hard and can be broken, with a grayish white cross-section. The wood has radial texture and many tiny round holes. If you cut open the twisted stems and branches, you can see that the wood splits from the ray part and opens up like the ribs of an origami fan. It has a faint smell and a slightly bitter taste.

3. Plant morphology of broad-rib vine

Deciduous woody vine, 3-10 m long. Young branches are pubescent, old branches are glabrous and have many lenticels. Simple leaves are alternate; broadly ovate to rounded ovate, with abrupt apex, cordate base, covered with short stiff hairs above and pubescent hairs below, with 5 to 7 basal veins; petiole is 4 to 10 cm long and pubescent. The racemes are axillary and open before the leaves; they are unisexual and dioecious; the flowers are light yellow. The infructescence is about 10 cm long, the drupe is bright red, the endocarp is semi-ovoid, the ventral surface is flat, and the dorsal surface has ridges and numerous small wart-like protrusions. Seeds are semispherical, ventrally sunken. The flowering period is from March to April, and the fruiting period is from July to August.

4. Additional prescriptions for Kuanjinteng

1. 150g of Dalbergia odorifera, 120g of Tibetan lithospermum, 100g each of Lithospermum officinale, Rubia cordifolia, Honglian, Kuanjintengcun, Tibetan costusroot, and Bashaga, 200g of Rubus chinensis, and 60g of Kaempferia galanga. Grind all ten ingredients into coarse powder, sieve and mix well. It can clear blood heat and lower blood pressure; it is used for dry mouth, hoarseness, headache, dizziness, back pain, dizziness, and numbness of the whole body caused by high blood pressure. Take 2-2.5g at a time, 2-3 times a day, decocted and taken orally.

2. Kuanjinteng can dry yellow water and reduce inflammation. It is used for rheumatoid arthritis and yellow water disease: Kuanjinteng 100g, Ti Da 50g, Terminalia chebula 100g, Phyllanthus emblica (pitted) 80g, Terminalia chebula 70g. Grind into coarse powder, sieve and mix well. Take 3-5g at a time, 2-3 times a day, decocted and taken orally.

3. Radix Codonopsis pilosulae can clear blood heat and lower blood pressure; it is used for dry mouth, hoarseness, headache, dizziness, back pain, dizziness and numbness of the whole body caused by high blood pressure: 150g of Dalbergia odorifera, 120g of Tibetan lithospermum, 100g each of Lithospermum officinale, Rubia cordifolia, Honglian, Rhizoma Codonopsis pilosulae, Radix Codonopsis pilosulae, and Bashaga, 200g of Rubus chinensis, and 60g of Kaempferia galanga. Grind all ten ingredients into coarse powder, sieve and mix well. Take 2-2.5g at a time, 2-3 times a day, decocted and taken orally.
