The efficacy of three-branch nine-leaf grass

The efficacy of three-branch nine-leaf grass

Relatively many people are not so familiar with the Chinese medicinal material Sanzhi Jiuyecao. In fact, this Chinese medicinal material is quite widely used in traditional Chinese medicine. It is mainly used to treat some men's diseases. After all, many male friends have problems with their body functions due to various reasons, which will lead to some sexual dysfunction in their bodies. In this case, they can take this medicine to improve it.

① Impact on sexual function

Epimedium has an aphrodisiac effect, which is caused by the hypersecretion of semen. When the seminal vesicle is full, it stimulates the sensory nerves and indirectly stimulates sexual desire. Although the fluid extract made from epimedium or Japanese epimedium cannot cause dogs to raise their tails, it can be seen that it has the effect of promoting semen secretion. The leaves and roots have the strongest effect, followed by the fruit, and the stems are the weakest. The method of increasing the weight of the prostate, seminal vesicles, and levator ani muscles (in mice) has proved that epimedium extract has an androgen-like effect. Its efficacy is weaker than that of cnidium monnieri, but stronger than that of scopolamine and hippocampus. Injection of 20-40 mg of its extract has an efficacy equivalent to 7.5 micrograms of testosterone. The decoction of Epimedium was used on mice whose ovaries were removed on both sides, and it was proved that it had no estrogen effect. It had no effect on the mating rate, ovulation cycle, and estrogen excretion in the urine of rats. The hot water and cold water infusions showed the same results. Japanese Epimedium ethanol extract has no effect on the sexual cycle of normal and ovariectomized female mice, nor does it increase the weight of the uterus and ovaries.

② Impact on microorganisms

The decoction of Epimedium has a significant inhibitory effect on polio virus in test tube, and shows an inactivation effect within 1 hour of contact between the drug and the virus. It can also inhibit other enteroviruses. It has a significant antibacterial effect on Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus aureus, and a slight inhibitory effect on Nasophilus influenzae, Pneumococcus, and Haemophilus influenzae. 1% concentration has antibacterial effect on human tuberculosis bacteria.

③ Antitussive, expectorant and antiasthmatic effects

Among the various preparations of Epimedium, the fresh stem and leaf extract C and Epimedium Compound II (Epimedium: Eucalyptus: Datura stramonium = 8:2:1) have a certain expectorant effect (phenol red method in mice). The ethyl acetate extract is preliminarily believed to have an antitussive effect (SO2-induced cough in mice method), but its antiasthmatic effect on guinea pig bronchial asthma is not ideal.

④Other functions

Epimedium extract has a hypotensive effect on rabbits. A small amount increases urine secretion, while a large amount inhibits it. It has an inhibitory effect on the isolated rabbit intestine and first excites and then inhibits the isolated uterus. Oral administration can lower the blood sugar level of hyperglycemic rats. Epimedium contains vitamin E (chicken identification method).

The decoction and alcohol extract of Epimedium sagittatum can lower the blood pressure of anesthetized rabbits and normal and renal hypertensive rats. Some people believe that the antihypertensive mechanism of Epimedium sagittatum is mainly due to peripheral vasodilation, while others believe that it is mainly due to the inhibition of vasomotor centers. Erxian mixture (Xianlingpi, Phellodendron chinense, Angelica sinensis, Anemarrhena asphodeloides, Curculigo orchioides, Morinda officinalis) showed antihypertensive effect in acute experiments on anesthetized cats and dogs and in hypertensive dogs. It had a significant antihypertensive effect on neurotic, renal, and orchiectomy-type hypertension in rats, but had no significant antihypertensive effect on adrenal scald-type and ovariectomy-type hypertension in rats. Preliminary analysis showed that Phellodendron chinense and Xianlingpi were the main antihypertensive ingredients in Erxian mixture.
