Treatment: Sweating treats colds, and laxatives treat wind-cold and wind-heat.

To treat a cold caused by wind and cold: just find a way to make yourself sweat.

To treat wind-heat cold: just find a way to moisten the intestines.

The key to treating a cold is to sweat it out (called Xinwen Jiebiao in Chinese medicine). There are many ways to do this, including taking a sauna, washing your feet with warm water (preferably with some wine), playing a game of basketball (if you have the energy), covering yourself with a double mattress, drinking brown sugar ginger water, drinking ginger porridge, eating a spicy hot pot, etc.

Once the cause of wind-heat cold is understood, the treatment is very simple. In most cases, it is just laxative (combined with heat-clearing and antipyretic drugs, which usually works quickly). There are many ways, such as drinking some heat-reducing tea; taking some heat-clearing and detoxifying medicine such as Isatis root granules, etc. Traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions include Sanhuang Tablets, Yinqiao Jiedu Tablets + Huanglian Shangqing Pills, and Isatis Root Granules. You can also eat some honeysuckle tea, oil and the like to treat wind-heat colds.
