Although the increase in digestive power is slow, it lasts longer. Gastric motility is significantly enhanced, as evidenced by prolonged gastric motility and enhanced peristaltic waves, thus accelerating the rate of gastric emptying. Chicken's gizzard lining itself contains only trace amounts of pepsin and amylase. Taking the medicine can increase the secretion of gastric juice and enhance gastric motility. It is believed that this may be due to the stimulation of the nerves and muscles of the stomach wall through humoral factors after digestion and absorption of chicken's gizzard lining.
