Radix Paniculatae has the effects of clearing away heat and dampness, detoxifying, dispersing blood stasis and reducing swelling. For treating carbuncle and all kinds of positive swelling and infection: take an appropriate amount of fresh Rhizoma Coptidis, add a few grains of salt and mash them together. Apply to the affected area. Yellow water will seep out and the area will gradually heal. To treat mastitis: take appropriate amount of fresh Rhizoma Cibotii, mash it and apply it to the affected area. To treat unknown swelling and infection: mash the yellow leaves of Tianji, add wine and apply to the affected area.
