2. Pharmacological action: The extract and water-extracted alcohol precipitate have anti-thrombotic and thrombolytic effects respectively; the extract can inhibit platelet aggregation and adhesion rate, and reduce the number of aggregation; total bioalkali can improve the tolerance of the myocardium and brain to ischemia, and reduce the oxygen consumption of the heart and brain tissues; the decoction has a lipid-regulating effect and can delay the formation of atherosclerosis; the extract can inhibit liver damage caused by D-galactose and has a liver-protecting effect.

3. Clinical research: Grind equal amounts of earthworms and leeches into powder and pack them into capsules. Each capsule contains 0.25g of the raw drug. Take 4 capsules each time, 3 times a day, to treat hypertension. The effective rate was 90.63% (Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine, 1992, (12): 38). In addition, in clinical practice, the use of Chinese earthworm alone or a combination of Chinese earthworm as the main ingredient is used to treat coronary heart disease, fractures, acute lumbar sprain, sciatica, chest pain caused by exertion, and advanced tumors.

I think everyone should be clear about the effects and functions of the earthworm. When using Chinese medicine, it must comply with the theory of traditional Chinese medicine. Even if the efficacy of the earthworm is very obvious, it must be used correctly. It is not recommended for non-professionals to use it on their own to avoid improper use, which may cause adverse effects on the patient's health. This is the issue that everyone needs to pay attention to.
