What are the functions and effects of hemp seed

Hemp seeds are the dried and mature seeds of the cannabis plant of the Moraceae family, which are grown in most parts of our country. Hemp seeds prefer to grow in moist and warm places. Hemp seed is rich in nutrients and can treat and prevent some physical diseases. Hemp seeds can also be used to extract oil. So what are the functions and effects of hemp seed? Let’s talk about it below.

1. Laxative effect This product can stimulate the intestinal mucosa, increase secretion, accelerate peristalsis, reduce water absorption by the large intestine, and have a laxative effect. Because it contains more fatty oil, it is a lubricating laxative.

2. Antihypertensive effect: The alcohol in hemp seed tincture was removed and made into an emulsion, which was then injected into the duodenum of anesthetized cats at 2 g/kg (raw drug dosage). After half an hour, the blood pressure began to slowly drop, and after 2 hours it dropped to about half of the original level. However, there were no significant changes in heart rate and respiration.

3. Effect on serum cholesterol Hemp seed has a significant effect in preventing the increase of serum cholesterol in rats. During the experimental period, the serum cholesterol level was relatively stable for 4 weeks, and was significantly lower than that of the control group in the 3rd and 4th weeks (P<0.05).
