Medicinal value of green peel

Green peel is the peel of unripe citrus fruits. It is dark green or gray-green in color, contains volatile oils and other substances, has a fragrance, and tastes somewhat sour and bitter. Qingpi is mainly used to treat symptoms such as stomachache, indigestion, fullness, abdominal distension and pain. The method of taking it is also relatively simple, usually taken orally. You can drink it in water, make it into porridge, etc. You can also soak the green peel with fennel and rice wine to treat symptoms of menstrual disorders, irritability, and chest tightness in women. If your gastrointestinal digestion function is poor, you can make green peel porridge. Just add green peel to rice, which can strengthen the spleen and stimulate appetite.

Soothes the liver and relieves qi; eliminates accumulation and resolves stagnation. It is used to treat distension and pain in the ribs caused by liver depression and qi stagnation; distension and pain in the breasts; breast nodules; mastitis; hernia pain; distension and pain in the stomach caused by food stagnation and qi stagnation; as well as accumulation of symptoms and masses caused by qi stagnation and blood stasis; and lumps caused by long-term malaria. Used for chest and flank distension and pain, hernia, breast nodule, mastitis, and abdominal pain caused by food accumulation.

② "The Origin of Medicine": "The Secret of Main Treatment" says that it can be used for diseases of Jueyin and Shaoyang. It can break up hard lumps, disperse stagnant qi, remove dampness in the lower abdomen, and relieve gas accumulation in the left flank.

③ "Compendium of Materia Medica": Treats chest and diaphragm qi reversal, flank pain, lower abdominal hernia, eliminates breast swelling, soothes the liver and gallbladder, and drains lung qi.

④ "Bencao Beiyao": It can eliminate phlegm and relieve abdominal distension, treat liver-qi stagnation, flank pain and anger, long-term malaria, hernia pain, and breast swelling.

⑤ "Modern Practical Chinese Medicine": Treats stomachache, vomiting, relieves fever, and eliminates phlegm.

Qingpi has the effect of soothing the liver and breaking up qi, so it is not suitable for people with qi deficiency. The elderly and children with weak constitutions should also avoid eating it. Qingpi can be used in combination with a variety of traditional Chinese medicines to treat diseases. Nowadays, many women often suffer from breast diseases due to pressure from work and life, and Qingpi has a good effect on the treatment of lobular hyperplasia of the breast.
