What are the effects of Astragalus and Angelica Tea?

Angelica is the root of the plant Angelica sinensis of the Umbelliferae family. This product is the dried root of Angelica sinensis, a plant of the Umbelliferae family. It is dug up in late autumn, and the fibrous roots and mud and sand are removed. After the water evaporates slightly, it is tied into small bundles, put on the shed, and slowly dried with fireworks. The whole angelica root is slightly cylindrical, the top of the root is called the "Gui head", and the main root is called the "Gui body" or "Cun body". The branch root is called "Guiwei" or "Guitui" and the whole is called "Quangui". Whole angelica nourishes blood and promotes blood circulation, the body of angelica nourishes blood, and the tail of angelica promotes blood circulation. Angelica has the effects of nourishing blood and activating blood circulation, regulating menstruation and relieving pain, and moistening the intestines and promoting bowel movements. It is used for chlorosis due to blood deficiency, dizziness and palpitations, irregular menstruation, amenorrhea and dysmenorrhea, abdominal pain due to deficiency and cold, dry intestines and constipation, rheumatic pain, injuries from falls, carbuncles and ulcers.

Astragalus is the root of the leguminous herb Astragalus mongolica and Astragalus membranaceus. It has the effects of replenishing qi and strengthening the exterior, promoting diuresis and reducing swelling, expelling toxins and draining pus, and promoting tissue regeneration. Astragalus contains saponins, sucrose, polysaccharides, multiple amino acids, folic acid, and various trace elements such as selenium, zinc, and copper. It has the effects of enhancing the body's immune function, protecting the liver, diuresis, anti-aging, anti-stress, lowering blood pressure and a wide range of antibacterial effects. However, it should not be taken in patients with symptoms such as excessive external evil, stagnation of qi and dampness, stagnant food, severe heat and toxicity in the early stage of carbuncle or after ulceration, as well as those with yin deficiency and yang hyperactivity.

Preparation method of Angelica Astragalus Tea:

(1) The ratio of Astragalus to Angelica is 5:1, such as 30 grams of Astragalus and 6 grams of Angelica.

(2) Decoction and boil Astragalus and Angelica three times, then pour the boiled water together and drink it.

Note: People with weak qi and blood, those just recovering from a long illness, those recovering from surgery and the elderly can drink more Angelica and Astragalus tea. People with yin deficiency and hyperactivity of fire, and who are thin, should try to drink less angelica and astragalus tea. Patients with colds and women during menstruation should not drink Angelica and Astragalus.
