[Original form] Taiwan Paulownia is a small tree, 6-12m tall. The crown is umbrella-shaped, with a short trunk; the twigs are brown-gray with obvious lenticels. The petiole is relatively long and has long glandular hairs when young; the leaf blade is heart-shaped, up to 48 cm long in the largest, with a sharp tip, entire or 3-5 shallowly lobed or angular, with sticky hairs on both sides, which turn into a single coarse hair when old. The lateral branches of the inflorescence branches are well developed, almost equal to or slightly shorter than the central main branches, so the inflorescence is broad and conical, up to 1m long; the cymes have no peduncle, with yellow-brown hairs, the calyx teeth are deeply divided to more than half, narrowly oval, with sharp heads and obvious green edges; the corolla is nearly bell-shaped, light purple to blue-purple, 3-5cm long, with glandular hairs on the outside, the base of the corolla tube is narrow and expands upward, the eaves are 2-lipped, 3-4cm in diameter; the stamens are 1-1.5cm long, the ovary has glandular hairs, and the style is 1.4cm long. The capsule is oval, 2.5-4cm long, with a short beak at the tip, thin pericarp, and a persistent calyx that is radiant and strongly fissured. The seeds are oblong, winged, and 3-4 cm long. The flowering period is April-May, and the fruiting period is August-September.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing in hillside thickets, sparse forests and wastelands at an altitude of 200-1500m.
