The leaves are linear, 1.5-4.5cm long, 2-4mm wide, tapered at the apex, gradually narrowing at the base, sessile and glabrous on both sides. The spike inflorescence is many-flowered, born at the top of the stem, 3-8cm long, and composed of a cyme. The cyme usually has 10 flowers, often leaning to one side and forming a semi-cyme shape; bracts and bracteoles are linear; calyx is tubular, with a slightly enlarged throat, and the outside is slightly pubescent on the veins and calyx teeth, with scattered yellow glandular dots, calyx teeth 5, long triangular lanceolate, with a cone-shaped tip; corolla purple, about 12mm long, with slightly pubescent and yellow glandular dots on the outside, the corolla tube is slightly curved downward, gradually expanding upward, the upper lip is straight, with 2 shallow lobes at the apex, the lower lip is 3-lobed, the middle lobe is obcordate, the apex is concave, and the lateral lobes are broadly ovate; there are 4 stamens, the front pair is longer, the rear pair is shorter, all protruding from the corolla, the anthers are 2-chambered, and the chambers are forked; the style is close to or slightly protruding from the stamens, with 2 shallow lobes at the apex; the disk is flat-topped; the ovary has glandular dots at the apex. The nutlets are oblong-triangular, 2.5mm long, about 0.7mm wide, brown, rounded at the tip, with glandular dots, and a white spot at the base. The flowering period is July-August, and the fruiting period is August-September.
