[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of Saxifraga spatholobifolia, a plant of the Saxifragaceae family.

[Original morphology] Kidney calyx golden waist perennial herb, 4.5-13cm high. The sterile branches emerge from the leaf axils at the lower part of the stem. The basal leaves are opposite, nearly oblate, about 7mm long, 8.2-9.2mm wide, obtuse at the apex, broadly cuneate at the base, with 8 crenates on the margin, 1 brown nipple at the end of the teeth, and glabrous on both sides; the petiole is about 5mm long, the terminal one is flat and broadly ovate to nearly flat and obtuse, the base is broadly cuneate to slightly cordate, glabrous above, densely covered with brown nipples below, with 7-10 crenates on the margin, and the petiole is about 3mm long; the flower stem is glabrous. The stem leaves are opposite, obovate, nearly rounded to fan-shaped, up to 1.5 cm long and about 1.6 cm wide, obtuse at the apex, broadly cuneate at the base, with 7-12 crenates on the margin, papillate at the apex, and petiole 2-5.6 mm long. Bract axils with brown nipples; pedicels 2.5-19mm long, glabrous; flowers yellow-green; sepals unfold during flowering, nearly oblate, slightly concave at the apex, with 1 brown nipple in the concave part; 8 stamens; ovary nearly inferior; disk 8-lobed. The capsule tip is nearly truncate and slightly concave, the fruit lobes are horizontally forked, and have a very short beak. The seeds are ovoid, dark brown, with 13-15 longitudinal ribs and transverse stripes on the ribs. Flowering and fruiting period is from March to June.
