[Original form] Deciduous tree, up to 14m tall. The annual branches are densely covered with reddish-brown soft hairs, while the biennial branches are glabrous. Leaves are alternate; petioles are 3-7mm long and without stipules; leaf blades are ovate or ovate-oblong, 3.5-8cm long and 2-3.5cm wide, with acuminate apex, broad cuneate base, unequal sides, serrated margins in the middle and upper parts, rarely entire, 3 basal veins, 2-4 pairs of lateral veins, rougher on the upper side, with more hairs on the veins on the lower side, denser hairs in the vein axils, and old leaves are glabrous. The male flowers have 4 tepals, which are hairy; the stamens are 4; the female or bisexual flowers have 4 tepals; the ovary is ovate, smooth, and the styles are 2, which are recurved outwards. The drupes are usually 2 in axillary, nearly spherical, 4-6mm in diameter, orange-yellow, 9-18mm long, with reticulate stones and hairy stalks. The flowering period is April-May, and the fruiting period is September-October.

[Properties] Identification by properties: The leaves are mostly broken and wrinkled. The intact ones are ovate or ovate-elliptical when flattened, 3.5-8cm long, 2-3.5cm wide, with acuminate tip, broad cuneate base, unequal sides, serrated margins in the middle and upper parts, rarely entire; the upper surface is dark yellow-green and rough, while the lower surface is yellow-green; young leaves are covered with scattered hairs on both sides, with more hairs on the veins and denser hairs in the vein axils, while old leaves are glabrous; petiole is 3-7mm long with fine soft hairs. It is brittle and easily broken. Slight odor, light taste.
