Traditional Chinese medicine requires the use of traditional Chinese medicine when treating diseases, and wild lily, as a kind of traditional Chinese medicine, is also frequently used. So, let’s talk about the effects and functions of wild lily. [Other names] Buddha's nail (Illustrated Catalogue of Plant Names and Realities), raccoon bean (Dictionary of Botany), dog bell grass, blue-flowered wild lily (Illustrated Description of Main Plants in China·Leguminosae), mountain oil sesame, wild sesame, sesame ringing bell (Common Folk Herbs in Zhejiang Province), Nongjili (Selected Works of the Complete Exhibition·Tumor). [Source] It is the whole herb of the leguminous plant Lilium wilfordii . Collected in summer and autumn. [Original morphology] Annual erect herb, 20 to 100 cm tall, covered with slightly long, slightly rough hairs. The leaves are simple, linear or lanceolate, with great variation in size, 2.5 to 8 cm long, 0.5 to 1 cm wide, narrowly pointed at both ends, usually with fascicles of hairs at the tip, slightly hairy or almost hairless on the upper side, and covered with silky hairs on the lower side; almost no petioles; stipules are extremely small and bristle-like. Inflorescence is terminal or axillary, with 2 to 20 flowers, which are densely packed together. Bracts and bracteoles are very similar, linear; bracteoles are attached to the upper part of the pedicels, all covered with slightly rough long hairs; pedicels are very short, drooping when fruiting; calyx is 10-15 mm long, densely covered with brown-yellow long hairs, with pointed tips of calyx teeth; corolla is butterfly-shaped, purple-blue or light blue, about the same length as the calyx, the standard petal is round, the wing petals are shorter than the standard petal, obovate-rectangular, the keel petal is the same length as the wing petal, incurved, and has a beak; stamens 10, monomeric, anthers 2-type; ovary sessile, style slender. The pods are hairless, oblong, and about the same length as the calyx; there are 10 to 15 seeds. Flowering period is September. [Habitat distribution] Growing in wasteland weeds. Distributed in Northeast, East China, South China and Southwest China. [Chemical composition] Contains 7 kinds of biological alkaloids, among which the ones with higher content are lily alkaloids (B, C and A). The content of acetylcholine in the whole plant is about 0.02%, and about 0.4% in the seeds. 【Pharmacological action】 ①Anticancerous effect [Toxicity] Lilium is extremely toxic. The median lethal dose for rats injected subcutaneously is 134±11.6 mg/kg. All animals show systemic bleeding and the liver is obviously turbid and congested. Subacute toxicity tests on rats (30 mg/kg/7 days) and dogs (18 mg/kg/10 days) showed no significant effects on liver and kidney functions, and a slight decrease in white blood cells and platelets. When dogs were given a high dose (62.5 mg/kg/changed to 122.5 mg/kg after 7 days), the total white blood cell count and platelet count decreased; the liver and lungs were severely damaged. In a subacute toxicity test on rats at a high dose (80 mg/kg/day), transaminase levels increased progressively, albumin binding capacity decreased, liver copper storage increased, portal vein pressure increased in rats with ascites, hepatocyte mitosis was inhibited, and giant cells appeared in the liver. Sodium disodium mercaptobutane (anti-radioactive drug) and L-cysteine hydrochloride have a certain protective effect on the toxicity of rats caused by lily alkaloids, but the anti-cancer effect is also slightly weakened. The toxicity of Lilium vulgaris varies greatly depending on the animal species. 【Functions and indications】 Clears away heat, promotes dampness and detoxifies. Treat dysentery, carbuncle, and infantile malnutrition. It has recently been tried for the treatment of cancer. [Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoct in water, 0.5 to 1 liang. For external use: mash and apply. [Additional prescription] ① For treating carbuncle: add sugar to the whole fresh wild lily herb and mash it, or dry it in the sun and grind it into powder for external application; or boil it in water and use it for external washing. It can also be mixed with 50 cents each of Viola yedoensis and honeysuckle, decocted in water and taken orally. 【Clinical application】 ①Treatment of malignant tumors [Remarks] This product is used as bell grass in Sichuan area. See the entry for "Bellgrass". 【Excerpt】 《*Dictionary》 Through the above introduction, we can understand the relevant knowledge about wild lily. If we can give full play to the efficacy of wild lily, it can help us solve some physical diseases. Therefore, many people regard it as their own health care choice. |
