Smith Micro: Business travelers interested in hotel mobile services

Mobile devices, due to their flexibility and convenience, can integrate all aspects of business travel, such as booking, route planning and spending, etc. A June 2012 survey from Smith Micro showed that these business travelers also have the need to pay through their mobile phones.
79% of business travelers said they would use the check-in and check-out services provided by mobile devices. Of course, this does not mean that hotels should abandon manual services. Mobile self-service channels should be used as a supplement rather than a replacement for existing services, otherwise hotels will annoy users who seek manual services.

The survey also found that a significant number of business travelers are also taking advantage of mobile-enabled discounts and other promotional opportunities, as well as customer and business services delivered via mobile phones.
In terms of services currently used by business travelers, 95% use high-speed broadband connections, while the majority use business services in hotels.
