[Source] It is the whole herb or root of the Artemisia scoparia of the Commelinaceae family. Harvested in summer and autumn.

[Original form] Perennial herb. Root tuberous, elongated, fleshy. The leaves are cauline or clustered at the base of the stem, linear-lanceolate, 15 to 30 cm long, 1 to 1.5 cm wide, with parallel veins. The flower stem is 30 to 60 cm long, with leaves, long internodes, and no flowers; the panicles are sparse; the bracts are fallen; there are 3 sepals, which are oblong-lanceolate; there are 3 petals, which are oval and purple-blue; there are 2 developed stamens, with hairy filaments, and 3 degenerate stamens, which are no flowers. The capsule is nearly spherical, about 6 mm in diameter. The seeds are brown with indistinct wrinkles. The flowering period is late spring and early summer. The fruiting period is from October to November.
