[Alias] Jiebaqutu (Tibetan name).

[Source] It is the whole herb with roots of the leguminous plant Codonopsis heterophylla . Harvest from July to August.

[Original form] Perennial herb. The taproot is thick and conical. Pinnate compound leaves, with 9 to 13 leaflets, with great variation in leaf shape, round, elliptical, obovate or broadly obovate, 0.3 to 0.9 cm long, 0.2 to 0.8 cm wide, emarginate or deeply pierced at the tip, densely covered with long, flat hairs on both sides. Umbel, peduncle 2-10 cm long, sparsely pubescent; 2-4 flowers; calyx bell-shaped, about 0.5 cm long, densely pubescent, the upper 2 calyx teeth larger and wider than the lower 3 calyx teeth; corolla blue-purple. The pods are cylindrical or slightly flat, sparsely covered with soft hairs.

[Habitat distribution] Growing on hillside lawns. Distributed in Qinghai, Tibet, Sichuan, Yunnan and other places.

【Nature and flavor】Cold in nature, bitter in taste.

【Functions and indications】Detoxification, swelling reduction and diuresis. Treat edema, carbuncle, furuncle, and lymph node tuberculosis.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoct in water, 1 to 3 qian.
