【Original form】 Shrubs to small trees. The young branches are covered with gray or gray soft hairs, slender, and have blunt edges. Leaves opposite; petiole 4-6mm long; leaf blade papery or thin leathery, elliptic, sometimes oblong or lanceolate, 4-9cm long, 2-3.5cm wide, apex acute or acuminate, base cuneate, initially pubescent on both sides, later becoming glabrous with fine glandular hairs; pinnate veins, 10-13 pairs of lateral veins. The inflorescence is axillary, sometimes a short panicle, with the peduncle covered with soft hairs; the bracts are small and cone-shaped; the pedicels are 3-8mm long and hairy; the flowers are white and 3-merous; the calyx tube is covered with gray hairs, the sepals are ovate, about 1mm long, rounded at the apex, with eyelashes; the petals are obovate, 2-2.5mm long, and covered with fine hairs on the outside; the stamens are numerous, slightly shorter than the petals; the ovary is inferior. The berry is about 4mm in diameter, pubescent, and contains 3-5 seeds. Flowering period is from March to May.
