[Original form] Evergreen tree or shrub, up to 10 meters tall. The bark is gray-black; the twigs are cylindrical, gray-green, and have white threads when broken; the young branches are yellow-green and have four edges. The leaves are simple, opposite, thinly leathery, obovate to obovate-oblong, or elliptical to oblong-elliptical, with evenly serrated edges, dark green above, light green below, glabrous on both sides, with the main vein on the below obviously raised; the petiole is about 0.5 to 1 cm long.
