[Source] It is the root or root bark of the persimmon plant of the Ebenaceae family. Harvested from September to October.

[Chemical composition] The roots have cardiac glycosides, anthraquinone glycosides, saponin reactions, and contain tannins and starch. Persimmon root contains 3-methoxy-7-methyl-juglonequinone and diospyrosinone.

[Nature and flavor] "Chongqing Herbal Medicine": "Tastes astringent, neutral, non-toxic."

【Functions and indications】Cooling blood and stopping bleeding. Treat uterine bleeding, bloody diarrhea, and hemorrhoids.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoct in water, 1 to 2 liang. For external use: mash and stir-fry for application.

[Additional prescription] ① Treat bloody dysentery and metrorrhagia: 2 liang each of persimmon root and red dove nest. The first dose is decocted in water and taken orally, the second dose is stewed and taken orally. (Chongqing Herbs)
