[Source] Medicinal material source: branches and leaves of the hairy-leaved pearl flower of the Ericaceae family.

[Original form] Hairy-leaved pearl flower, deciduous shrub or small tree, 2-3m high. The bark is gray or gray-brown; the branches are thick and the young branches are covered with short soft hairs. Simple leaves are alternate; petiole is 4-10mm long, with sparse fine hairs; leaf blade is papery, obovate or oblong-obovate, 3-5 (-7) cm long, 2-3 cm wide, obtuse at apex with short tip, base is broadly cuneate, or nearly rounded, or slightly shallowly cordate, entire, dark green on the surface, light green on the back, covered with gray long soft hairs, usually more on the veins, midrib is sunken on the surface, convex on the back, lateral veins are pinnate, 6-9 pairs, prominent on the back. The racemes are axillary, 4-5 (-7) cm long, usually with 8-15 flowers, 2-3 leaf-like bracts below, and the bracteoles fall off early; the inflorescence axis and pedicels are densely covered with yellow-brown soft hairs; the calyx is deeply lobed into 5 parts, the lobes are narrowly lanceolate, 3-4 mm long; the corolla is ovate-altar-shaped, creamy yellow, drooping, 5-8 mm long, with 5 shallow lobes at the apex, and the lobes are triangular; there are 10 stamens, the filaments are covered with long soft hairs, without awn-like appendages; the ovary is spherical and the style is thick. The capsule is nearly spherical, the calyx is persistent and slightly pubescent. The flowering period is June-July, and the fruiting period is August-September.
