The efficacy and function of Wulingzhi

Wulingzhi is the dried feces of the flying squirrel. It can be used to treat blood stasis or bleeding conditions such as metrorrhagia in women, purple clots, and stabbing pain in the lower abdomen. We should know that the efficacy and function of Wulingzhi are relatively good.

Because of its sweet and warm nature, non-toxic nature, and the fact that it can enter the liver meridian, Wulingzhi has a very good effect in dredging blood vessels, and its effect in dispersing blood stasis and relieving pain is also obvious. It can be used for internal blood stasis and bleeding caused by blood not returning to the menstruation, such as women with heavy metrorrhagia, purple menstruation with many clots, and stabbing pain in the lower abdomen. It can be fried and ground into powder and taken with warm wine alone, or it can be used in combination with other medicines.

Anti-tuberculosis effect: Wulingzhi has a certain therapeutic effect on experimental tuberculosis in mice. The compound used is 2g each of Forsythia suspensa and Wulingzhi; or 2g each of Forsythia suspensa, Wulingzhi, Lycium bark, and Lithospermum officinale. The above methods also have certain therapeutic effects on experimental tuberculosis in guinea pigs. To treat heartache and blood qi in women, use equal parts of Wulingzhi (clean and healthy ones) and Puhuang. Grind into powder, take 2 qian each time. Use a ladle of good vinegar, boil it into a paste, then add a cup of water, boil it until it is 70% cooked, and drink it while hot.

Effect on the uterus: The decoction of Wulingzhi increases the tension of the uterus for a short time, which returns to normal after a few minutes. Some post-inhibition phenomena occur, while the frequency and amplitude are slightly affected. In vitro tests have shown that Wulingzhi has varying degrees of inhibitory effects on Mycobacterium tuberculosis and a variety of skin fungi; it also has the effect of relieving smooth muscle spasms and has been used clinically for angina pectoris. Effects on the cardiovascular system: Injection of 20 mg/kg of Wulingzhi into the femoral artery increased femoral arterial blood flow and reduced vascular resistance in anesthetized dogs. 200ug/ml of the water extract of Fructus Aconiti Lateralis can significantly reduce the oxygen consumption of rat neonatal cardiomyocytes cultured in vitro.

After reading the above knowledge about the effects and functions of Wulingzhi, we actually have a certain understanding of this situation. Therefore, we can use Wulingzhi to treat our diseases under the advice of relevant doctors, which is very beneficial to our health.
