[Original morphology] The whole plant has nipple; the stem is hairless. Leaves are opposite; petiole is 1-3cm long, with clustered glands at the top; leaf blade is hard and papery, elliptical or ovate, 6-14cm long, 2-8cm wide, with short acuminate tip, base rounded or shallowly cordate, glabrous; lateral veins 5-7 on each side. Umbrella-shaped cymes are axillary, dichotomous to trichotomous; flowers are small, yellow-white; calyx is 5-lobed, covered with fine hairs on the outside, with 5 glands at the base of the inner surface; corolla is nearly bell-shaped, with 5 corolla lobes covering to the right; corona is split into 5 flat, short membranous signs, forming a ring, born at the base of the gynoecium; there is one pollinia in each locule, erect. Ovary glabrous, stigma base colorful and angular. The follicles are twin, lanceolate, cylindrical, 4.5-8cm long, and glabrous. The seed tip has white silky hairs about 2.5 cm long. The flowering period is from June to September, and the fruiting period is from August to January of the following year.
