【Original form】 Deciduous vine. The plant body is slender and the branchlets are cylindrical. Leaves are alternate; petiole 0.7-2cm long; leaves are papery; leaf blades are ovate, ovate-triangular or broadly elliptical, 4-7cm long, 2-6cm wide, with long pointed tips, obtuse or cordate bases, and sparsely serrated edges; green above, light green below. Flowers are unisexual and dioecious; flowers are small, less than 1 cm in diameter; flowers are orange-yellow; perianth is 6-9; stamens are 8-12; pistil carpels are 16-21, arranged in 3-4 whorls; ovary has a distinct cockscomb-shaped stigma. The aggregate fruit is 1.5-4cm long when mature. The small berry is flattened spherical, red, and contains 2 seeds. The seed coat has tiny tubercle-like protrusions. The flowering period is May-June, and the fruiting period is August-September.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing in hillside shrub forests or under mixed woods at an altitude of 1500-2000m.
