[Source] Medicinal material source: The tender stems and leaves of the Himalayan jasmine plant of the jasmine family.

[Original form] 1. Deciduous shrub or small tree, up to 5m tall. Branchlets densely covered with white lenticels. Leaves are alternate; petioles are 0.5-2cm long, purple-red; leaves are hard, papery to herbaceous, ovate, oblong to oblong-lanceolate, 6-14cm long, 3.5-5.5cm wide, apex caudate-long acuminate or acuminate, with the tip up to 2cm long, base rounded or cordate, margins densely and sharply serrated, with small bony tips at the ends; veins are purple-red, with 5-7 pairs of lateral veins. The spike inflorescence is axillary, 5-12 cm long, mostly drooping, and leafless at the base. The flowers open before the leaves, are yellow, about 6mm long, and sessile; there is one bracteole, trifoliate-ovate, less than 2mm long, and two bracteoles, broadly ovate, 2mm long; there are four sepals, broadly ovate, 6mm long; there are eight stamens, about the same length as the petals; the ovary is ovate-oblong, and the length including the style is about 6mm. The berry is nearly spherical, 7-8mm in diameter, almost sessile or with a short stalk, and the style is persistent. The flowering period is March-April, and the fruiting period is July-September.
