[Original form] An evergreen creeping shrub, 20 to 40 cm tall. The stem has no prickles, and the stem, petiole, midrib below the leaf blade, peduncle, pedicel and calyx are densely covered with purple bristle-like glandular hairs and light yellow silky hairs. Simple leaves are alternate, papery, ovate or broadly ovate, 4.5-10.5 cm long, 3-10 cm wide, palmately 3-5 shallowly lobed, acuminate at the apex, cordate at the base, with sharp serrations on the margins, and pubescent on both sides; petioles are 2.5-5.5 cm long; stipules are deeply pinnate, with linear lobes. There are 3 to 5 flowers in axillary short racemes; the bracts are like stipules; the flowers are white, 1 to 1.5 cm in diameter; the calyx lobes are lanceolate, densely covered with soft hairs on both sides; there are 5 petals; there are many stamens, and the anthers are elliptical; the pistil style is linear and longer than the stamens. The aggregate fruit is hemispherical, about 1 cm in diameter, and dark red.

[Habitat distribution] Grown in jungles on hillsides or under bamboo forests. Distributed in Anhui, Zhejiang, Fujian, Hunan, Sichuan, Guizhou and other places.

[Functions and indications] Treat postpartum wind-induced diseases, irregular menstruation, and numbness and soreness of the limbs: 1-2 liang of whole-hair Rubus fructus, plus 1-2 liang of Rhamnaceae Guluancha, 1-2 liang of white horse bone (Rubiaceae Serissa sempervivum), and 1 liang of Salvia miltiorrhiza. Decoction in water, add rice wine and brown sugar, and take once in the morning and once in the evening before meals.
