Basal leaves are few, with petiole 4-6cm long, leaf blades round to kidney-shaped in outline, 5-14mm long, 12-24mm wide, 3-parted, with lobes further 2-3 deeply parted, or quincunx, with the final lobe narrowly elliptic to narrowly obovate; stem leaves 1-4, sparsely grown on the upper part of the stem, sessile, leaf blades 12-36mm long, palmately parted, with lobes linear, rarely narrowly oblanceolate, 1-3mm wide. The raceme is terminal, rarely axillary, 2-10cm long, with 10-15 flowers; the bracts are narrowly ovate to lanceolate, entire; the corolla is blue to purple-red, 12-14mm long, with a cockscomb-like protrusion on the outer ring, the spur is cylindrical, 1/3 of the length of the whole petal, the end is oblique upward, the outer petals are 7-9mm long, and the inner petals are 6-8mm long. Capsule is oblong, 12-18mm long. 3-6 seeds. The flowering period is April-May, and the fruiting period is May-June.
