[Original form] Round-leaved mallow is a perennial herb, 25-50cm tall. The branches are numerous and often creeping, covered with coarse hairs. Leaves are alternate, petioles are 3-12cm long, stellate with long soft hairs; stipules are small, ovate-acuminate; leaves are reniform, 1-3cm long, 1-4cm wide, base is cordate, margins are finely serrated, occasionally 5-7 shallowly lobed, sparsely stellate with long soft hairs above, sparsely stellate with soft hairs below. Flowers are usually clustered in leaf axils in 3-4 clusters, occasionally solitary at the base of the stem; pedicels unequal in length, 2-5cm long, sparsely stellately pubescent; bracteoles 3, lanceolate, about 5mm long, stellately pubescent; calyx bell-shaped, 5-6mm long, stellately pubescent, with 5 lobes, triangular-acuminate; flowers white to light pink, 10-12mm long, with 5 petals, obcordate; stamen column pubescent; style branches 13-15. The fruit is oblate, about 5-6mm in diameter, with 13-15 valves, not reticulate, and covered with short soft hairs. The seeds are reniform, about 1 mm in diameter, with or without reticulation. Flowering period is summer.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: grown in wilderness and grass slopes.

[Properties] Identification of properties: This product is cylindrical, 13-20cm long, 0.5-1.5cm in diameter, thicker at the upper end, usually with 5-10 clustered stem residues, and gradually thinner at the lower end. The surface is light brown to light brown, with irregular longitudinal wrinkles and numerous transverse lenticels. There are many branches in the lower middle part. It is hard and tough, with a highly fibrous and slightly powdery cross section. The bark is yellowish white, the wood is light yellow, and has radial texture. It has a slight odor, sweet taste, and has a slight peculiar smell and mucus when chewed.
