Pedicels emerge between leaves, sometimes longer than leaves, with 2 lanceolate bracteoles below the middle, about 1 cm long; flowers solitary, bluish purple, about 1.7 cm in diameter; sepals lanceolate, about 0.6 cm long, green, with membranous edges, and bases unequally decurrent; petals 5, the lowest one is the largest, spur-shaped at the base, with obtuse spurs; stamens 5, anthers surround the pistil inward, connectives are flat, extending outside the anther chamber to form a thin appendage, 2 anthers have appendages at the base extending into the spur; ovary superior, ovate, stigma truncate, slightly enlarged, with a beak.
