【Original form】 The plant is up to 80cm tall. The rhizome is short, thick and obliquely ascending, with brown, lanceolate scales at the top and base of the petiole. Leaves are clustered; petiole 15-35cm long, straw color, black base, nearly smooth upward; leaf blade papery, rachis and barbules often purple-red, ovate or elliptical, 25-40cm long, 20-30cm wide, deeply pinnate or tripinnate; pinnae 10-15 pairs, alternate, petiolate, broadly lanceolate, larger at the base, 13-18cm long, 4-7cm wide, deeply pinnate; pinnules 15-20 pairs, slightly oblique, lanceolate, larger in the middle, 2-4cm long, 1-2cm wide, gradually pointed, cuneate at the base, asymmetrical, deeply pinnate; lobes narrowly oblong, blunt-headed, with small serrations or shallow lobes on the edges; veins are pinnate on the lobes, raised below, with single lateral veins extending to the tooth tips. The sori are short linear or hooked, borne along the upper side of the lateral veins, close to the midrib, with 4-5 pairs in each lobe, covering the entire back of the leaf when mature. The sori cover is light brown, membranous, and has eroded edges.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Growing in wetlands beside fields and rock cracks under shrubs at an altitude of 800-1200m.
