【Habitat distribution】

It grows beside ditches, roadsides, on rocks and in shady and wet places. Distributed in the Yangtze River Basin, it reaches southern Shaanxi and south to Fujian and northern Guangdong and Guangxi.

【Properties】

The rhizome is short, shaped like a chicken's head, and dark brown; 5 to 8 cm long and 3 to 4 cm thick. The surface is densely covered with numerous petiole remnants, with brown-black curved rootlets and reddish-brown, slightly shiny scales at the top.
