Many people in life don’t know much about the wormwood, so let’s analyze it below. 【English name】 HERBA GLECHOMAE [Other names] Huoxuedan, money grass [Shanghai, Jiangsu], money mint, ground money, lung wind grass, eighteen lack, bone-penetrating [Sichuan] [Source] This product is the dried aerial part of Glechoma longituba (Nakai) Kupr., a plant of the Lamiaceae family. Harvest from spring to autumn, remove impurities and dry in the sun. [Properties] This product is 10 to 20 cm long and sparsely covered with short soft hairs. The stem is square columnar, thin and twisted; the surface is yellow-green or purple-red, with adventitious roots on the nodes; it is brittle, easy to break, and the cross section is often hollow. The leaves are opposite, mostly wrinkled, kidney-shaped or nearly heart-shaped when flattened, 1 to 3 cm long, 1.5 to 3 cm wide, gray-green or green-brown, with rounded edges; the petioles are slender, 4 to 7 cm long. The cymes are axillary, the corolla is two-lipped, up to 2 cm long. It has a fragrant aroma when rubbed and a slightly bitter taste. [Identification] Take 2g of the powder of this product, add 25ml of methanol, heat and reflux for 30 minutes, filter, evaporate the filtrate to dryness, add 1ml of anhydrous ethanol-chloroform (3:2) mixture to the residue to dissolve it, and use it as the test solution. Take another ursolic acid reference substance and add anhydrous ethanol to prepare a solution containing 1 mg per 1 ml as the reference substance solution. According to the thin layer chromatography method (Appendix Ⅵ B), 2-4 μl of the test solution and 2 μl of the reference solution were respectively spotted on the same silica gel H thin layer plate with 0.1 mol/L sodium dihydrogen phosphate-containing sodium carboxymethyl cellulose solution as the adhesive, and toluene-ethyl acetate-formic acid (20:4:0.5) as the developing agent. After development, the plate was taken out, dried, sprayed with 10% ethanolic sulfuric acid solution, and heated at 110°C until the spots were clearly colored. In the test sample chromatogram, a spot of the same color appears at the corresponding position in the reference sample chromatogram. [Processing] Remove impurities, wash, cut into sections and dry. 【Nature and flavor】 Spicy, slightly bitter, slightly cold. [entry into meridians] Enter the liver, kidney and bladder meridians. 【Functions and indications】 It can promote dampness removal and relieve stranguria, clear away heat and detoxify, disperse blood stasis and reduce swelling. Used for hot stranguria, stone stranguria, damp-heat jaundice, swelling and pain caused by sores and carbuncles, and injuries from falls. [Usage and Dosage] 15-30g; For external use, decoct in water for washing or take fresh product and mash it to apply on the affected area. 【Storage】 Store in a dry place to prevent mildew.
