[Original form] Tree, up to 40 meters high. The bark is gray-brown with large gray-white spots and is rough. Branchlets rounded, yellowish brown. Leaves are even-pinnate compound leaves; petiole is short; petiole is thin; leaflets are 2 to 4 pairs, apex is slightly concave, or obtuse, base is ovate, margin is entire, papery, dark green above, gray-green below, 7 to 8 cm long, 5 to 6 cm wide, lateral veins are arcuate, and reticulate veins are sparse. The racemes are arranged in terminal cones, with the flowers leaning to one side on the axis of the raceme; the calyx is tubular, 4-lobed, and the lobes are oblong; only one petal is developed, the others are degenerate, and are lavender; there are 7 stamens, which are prominent, with slightly curved apex, 4 with anthers and 3 with degenerates, and the anthers are brown; there is 1 pistil, which is slightly longer than the stamens, and the ovary is superior; there is 1 chamber. The pods are woody, rectangular, 10-12 cm long, 6-7 cm wide, 4 cm thick, slightly constricted in the middle, brown and smooth, with dense yellow spots, especially at the edges, and numerous small protrusions all over. There are usually 2 to 3 seeds, which are flat and have a horny aril-like stalk. Flowering period is May. Fruiting period is August.
