[Source] It is the flower of jasmine , a plant of the Oleaceae family. When the flowers first bloom around July, pick them on a sunny day and dry them in the sun. Store in a dry place.

[Original form] Jasmine (Compendium of Materia Medica), also known as: Moli (Description of Southern Plants), Moli (Records of Famous Gardens in Luoyang), Moli (Collection of Meixi Poems), Moli (Hong Mai).

[Habitat distribution] Mostly cultivated in moist and fertile soil. Distributed in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Taiwan, Guangdong, Sichuan, Yunnan and other places. Produced in Jiangsu, Sichuan, Guangdong and other places.

[Properties] The dried flowers are 1.5 to 2 cm long and about 1 cm in diameter. They are white when fresh and yellow-brown to tan when dry, with the base of the crown tube slightly darker in color. The unopened buds are tightly stacked into a sphere, the calyx is tubular, with 8 to 10 slender teeth, the outer surface has longitudinal wrinkled stripes, and is covered with sparse short hairs; the petals are elliptical, with short or blunt tips, and united into a tube at the base. It has a fragrant smell and a bitter taste. Pure and white ones are preferred.

[Chemical composition] The oil content of fresh flowers is generally 0.2-0.3%. The main components are benzyl alcohol and its esters, jasmine, linalool, and linalool benzoate.

【Nature and flavor】Sweet, spicy, warm.

【Functions and indications】Regulating Qi, relieving depression, eliminating filth, and harmonizing the stomach. Treat diarrhea, abdominal pain, conjunctivitis, and sores.

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoct in water, 0.5 to 1 qian; or make tea. For external use: decoct in water to wash eyes or soak in vegetable oil and drop into ears.
