【Original form】 Tree, 5-18m high. The branches are slender, covered with sparse reddish-brown pubescence when young, and glabrous when old. Leaves are alternate; petioles are about 1 cm long, sparsely pubescent, and gradually fall off; stipules are linear, easily fall off, and sparsely pubescent; leaf blades are nearly leathery, ovate to ovate-lanceolate, 5-15 cm long, 2.5-6 cm wide, acuminate at the apex, oblique, obtuse or cuneate at the base, entire or with often inconspicuous fine teeth at the top; sparsely pubescent along the veins when young, and then fall off; 3 basal veins, and reticulate veinlets. The cyme has 2-3 branches, extending to 3.5-4cm in the fruiting period, and is sparsely pubescent with reddish-brown appressed pubescence; the sepals are 4, oblong, and ciliate; the ovary is attached to the coarsely hairy receptacle, and the styles are 2. The drupe is oval, about 8mm long and 5mm in diameter; the core has raised reticular ribs. Flowering period is from March to May.
