[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb or leaves of the Lamiaceae plant.

[Original form] Blue-calyx fragrant tea, perennial herb, stem up to 1.5m high. The stem is sparsely pubescent at the bottom and nearly glabrous at the top. Leaves are opposite; petiole is 0.5-3cm long; leaf blade is ovate or broadly ovate, 6.5-13cm long, slightly sparsely pubescent along veins on both sides. The inflorescence is pedunculate, with 3-5 flowers, forming a loose, terminal panicle; bracts and bracteoles are ovate, slightly pubescent; calyx tubular-bell-shaped, about 1.5mm long, with gray short soft hairs and glandular dots on the outside, calyx teeth 5, shorter than the calyx tube, more or less two-lipped, upper lip 3 teeth, middle teeth slightly smaller, lower lip 2 teeth, longer, enlarged when fruiting, up to 3mm long; corolla white, 5.5mm long, corolla tube near the base shallowly saccular above, upper lip 4 equally fissured, lower lip boat-shaped; stamens and styles extend straight outside the corolla. Nutlets broadly obovate, apex glabrous.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: grows in valleys, under forests, and in grass.

【Chemical composition】 The leaves contain glaucocalyxin A and B, β-sitosterol, ursolic acid, and glaucocalyxin C.

【Nature and flavor】 Bitter; Cool

【Functions and indications】 Strengthens the stomach and helps digestion; clears away heat and detoxifies. Mainly used for abdominal distension and pain; indigestion; flank pain and jaundice; cold and fever; breast abscess; snake and insect bites

[Usage and Dosage] For oral use: decoction, 10-15g. For external use: take appropriate amount and mash it for application.
