[Original morphology] Gray-leaved Celastrus is a vine shrub with sparse lenticels on its twigs. Leaves are alternate; petiole 8-12mm long, leaves are nearly leathery in fruiting period; leaf blade is oblong and broadly elliptical, obovate-elliptical or elliptical, 5-10cm long, 2.5-6.5cm wide, with short acuminate tip, rounded to broad cuneate base, sparsely serrated margin, and grayish white on the back. Inflorescence is axillary, lateral and terminal, with 3-5 flowers in axillary and lateral ones, and racemose panicles in terminal ones, 3-6 cm long; pedicels 2.5-3.5 mm long, joint in the middle or square; stamens calyx half-cleft or deeper, lobes ovate-elliptical, 1.5-2 mm long; margin with sparse irregular small teeth; petals obovate rectangular, 4-5 mm long; disk fleshy, lobes nearly semicircular; stamens slightly shorter than corolla; reduced pistil about 1.5-2 mm long; pistil slightly smaller than male flowers, reduced stamens about 1.5 mm long, pistil about 3 mm long, ovary nearly round. The fruit is spherical, 9-10mm in diameter, and the pedicel is 5-9mm long. The seeds are black, oval, and 4-5 mm long. The flowering period is from March to June, and the fruit ripening period is from September to October.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: Grown in mixed forests at altitudes of 700-3700m.
