[Original form] 1. Shrub or small tree, 1-7m high. The bark is gray; the branches are dark gray and glabrous; the twigs are yellowish brown, densely pubescent and sparsely pubescent. The petiole is 1-2cm long; the leaf blade is round-ovate to broadly obovate, 4-13cm long and 2.5-10cm wide, with a concave or truncated tip, a triangular tip in the center, a cordate base, irregularly serrated edges, shallow teeth above the middle, almost glabrous above, and veinless and pubescent below, with 5-7 pairs of lateral veins. The male inflorescences are 2-7 arranged in racemes, about 4 cm long, with yellow anthers. Fruit solitary or in clusters of 2-6; fruit bract needle-shaped, with fine ridges, densely covered with short soft hairs and spiny glands on the outside, shallowly lobed at the top, with triangular lobes and almost entire margins; fruit peduncle about 1.5cm long, densely covered with short soft hairs. The nut is nearly spherical, 7-15mm long, slightly flattened, densely covered with fine hairs, and densely covered with coarse hairs at the tip. The flowering period is April-May, and the fruiting period is September.

[Habitat distribution] Ecological environment: 1. Growing in thickets on shady slopes of mountains at an altitude of 200-1000m.
