[Source] Medicinal material source: the whole herb of the Lamiaceae plant Codonopsis pilosula.

[Original form] Echeveria serrata, a perennial herb. There are many fibrous roots, which often form runners with creeping roots. The stem is erect, relatively sturdy, 50-70cm high, quadrangular and grooved. Leaves are opposite; petiole is 5-30mm long; leaf blade is ovate, 3-15cm long, gradually pointed or pointed at the apex, cordate at the base, with serrated edges, sparsely covered with soft hairs on both sides, mostly on the veins. Flowers are usually axillary double flowers, with extremely short peduncles, often borne on the 1-3 nodes at the top of the stem; bracts are small and lanceolate; calyx is campanulate, with 5 teeth, ovate-triangular to lanceolate, and two-lipped, with the 3 teeth of the upper lip slightly higher and the 2 teeth of the lower lip slightly lower, densely covered with fine hairs on the outside; corolla is purple, about 4 cm long, covered with short fine hairs on the outside, the upper lip is erect, 2-lobed or 2-lobed, the lower lip is 3-lobed, the middle lobe is larger, and the edges are wavy; stamens are 4, not extending out of the corolla, anthers are 2-chambered, covered with fine hairs; ovary is 4-lobed and covered with fine hairs; style extends out of the corolla; stigma is 2-lobed; disk is cup-shaped, finger-like and swollen in front. Small nuts. The flowering period is from April to June, and the fruiting period is from June to September.
